Melanie is a Whitehorse, Yukon-based occupational therapist specializing in cognitive rehabilitation and neurofunctional health. With a strong educational foundation, Melanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary, and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia.
Melanie has augmented clinical expertise through specialized training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), concussion rehabilitation, dementia care, and supporting individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD).
Melanie’s experience working with Yukon Health and Social Services in home care and long-term care has equipped her to support individuals with complex needs. She provides personalized, compassionate care that enables occupation, activities of daily living, social participation, and overall well-being.
Outside of her practice, Melanie enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and exploring the Yukon wilderness with her two young boys.
