What are telehealth Consultations

These are one-on-one sessions between yourself and your therapist to talk about your problems and issues.  It starts with you and the physiotherapist deciding on an agreed time to meet and then a video consult happens with you in the comfort of your own home.  The physiotherapist will be able to safely assess, diagnose and consult on a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. The physiotherapist will be able to help you with managing your condition and giving advice on ways to decrease your pain and discomfort.

What can telehealth do?

The physiotherapy assessment and the treatments can both be done with telehealth.

During the video or telephone sessions, our therapists will:

• Assess your problem and provide you with a diagnosis
• Carefully listen to your concerns
• Explain your condition and how to manage it
• Provide you with a home exercise program and self-management techniques
• Provide you with information on how to properly follow up with your condition
• Recommend any necessary equipment that you may need to help

How does telehealth work?

Call us at 867 668-4886 or email us at physioplusadmin@northwestel.net  to book an appointment. One hour before the scheduled session you will receive an email allowing you access to the video link and your therapist will log onto the software at the scheduled time.  

Once you have agreed on an appointment time, you will receive instructions on how to download Embodia.  This is the physiotherapy app which then links to Zoom and allows you and your physiotherapist to have the virtual consult.    

What do you need?  

You need a computer, tablet or phone with an internet connection.  All the necessary software is downloaded for free with your first email from us.
