The GLA:D program is a structured exercise program that is focused on helping individuals who are suffering from hip and knee osteoarthritis.

It was originally launched in Denmark in 2013, and since then, there have been thousands of people in different countries around the world taking the program and achieving a reduction in symptoms from knee and hip osteoarthritis.  Some of the positive outcomes include a reduction in pain, decreased use of painkillers, and less people having to miss work because of pain.

The GLA:D program is a 14 session program that takes place 2 times per week for 6-8 weeks.  It has 12 exercise sessions under the watchful eye of a physiotherapist and two education sessions.  Each session lasts between 60-90 minutes and takes place in our gym within the clinic at the Canada Games Centre.

Program participants report high levels of satisfaction with the program and increased levels of physical activity even 12 months after starting the program.  What makes this program unique is that it is designed specifically for people suffering from hip and knee OA combining both exercise and education.
